Who we are

Juan founded Melli Strategies in 2010 and brings extensive experience with online communications, social media and digital marketing — both as an "outsider" and "insider" of government, media, and politics.

In 2005 he founded and built the successful grassroots political blog, BlueJersey.com, which the Philadelphia Inquirer called "an increasingly influential must-read for the politically inclined." Blue Jersey was the first web site to have a blogger providing coverage of the New Jersey State House (see the New York Times article).

PolitickerNJ.com named Juan the Politician of the Year in 2006 and ranked him #17 on their Power List of 100 most politically influential personalities in 2007.

In 2006 he co-produced Think Equal, a series of award-winning advocacy web and television ads.

Juan was a columnist for PolitickerNJ.com and Associate Editor of the national Politicker network.

As Director of New Media for Governor Jon Corzine's campaign in 2009, he oversaw and planned all aspects of online communications, outreach, and organizing including mass email, social media, and the production of hundreds of web videos, one of which was a 2010 Reed Awards winner. He was the first to use text messaging in a New Jersey political campaign.

Juan holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Rutgers University and a Ph.D. in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from Princeton University.
